Site-Level Logins: Phased Rollout
Introducing site-level logins through a gradual, phased rollout. Initially, a few trusted users and all room owners will receive site login access.
What does this mean?
Instead of logging in separately for each room, you’ll log in once at the site level.
How Site Login Works
- Credentials Required:
- Username
- Password
- Reserved Name
The reserved name is your unique identifier across the entire site. For example, if your reserved name is Bob, you can still chat as Bob1, Bob2, or even Tom, provided those names aren’t reserved by someone else.
Room-Level Membership
Room owners will continue to manage registered members as before, using:
- Username
- Password
- Reserved Name
- Permissions
The system will match reserved names in your room with those at the site level:
- If a match is found, visitors can use their site login.
- Permissions remain room-specific—you control what they can do in your room.
If someone doesn’t have a site login but is a registered member of your room, they can still log in the traditional way.
